The prefabricated building was the heart of GDR social policy and a symbol of resocialist progress. The residents' attachment to their "prefabricated building" was expressed, among other things, in the form of a pastry that enjoyed great popularity in the 1970s: the "Chemnitz Platte" – made from gray-tinted dough and currently revived as hand-formed individual pieces by the Institute for Eastern Modernism.
The cookie mold allows prefabricated building modules to be baked in series. Instead of a rustic gingerbread house, linear architectural prefabricated elements are assembled to create a Christmas platter – or eaten individually. And don't forget to decorate the windows beforehand.
The mold was made using biodegradable plastic and energy-efficient manufacturing processes.
