The film The Transformation of das Minsk: How das Minsk became ‘DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam’ documents the rescue of the former terrace restaurant Minsk in Potsdam, which was visibly neglected after the fall of the Berlin Wall until it ultimately seemed doomed to demolition.

It was the people of Potsdam who fought to preserve this memorable building, which is crucial to the city’s urban identity. The Hasso Plattner Foundation acquired the structure in order to renovate it and make it accessible to the public once again.

A film crew accompanied the historic building’s reconstruction over a period of two years and captured impressive images showing the passionate efforts to revive a symbol of the state capital that was nearly lost.
